What’s a good anti-aging face mask I can make at home using household ingredients?

I’d like to give myself a "facial" and want something that would be anti-aging — something that will exfoliate and tighten pores.

Anti Aging Facial

2 teaspoons of plain yogurt

½ teaspoon of honey

½ teaspoon of lemon juice

3 capsules of vitamin E (equivalent of 300 units)

Combine the yogurt, honey and lemon juice. Open the vitamin E capsules and fold the contents into the mix. Apply the facial to the face and leave it on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse off.

What are those fitness walk trails with exercise stations called?

Filed under: Fitness — admin @ 2:08 am

Back in Girl Scouts we would go on a hike at a park that would have a fitness trail. Along the fitness trail there would be stations set up where you do jumping jacks, pull-ups, walking a beam, etc. I have seen them by office buildings and apartment complexes too. What I want to do is find out what they are officially called so I can do a search online. Thanks! (PS: I am from the Schaumburg, IL area if that helps.)

Usually it is called a fitness trail.

How does health insurance work – when insurance premium can generally increase?

Filed under: Health — admin @ 2:08 am

If family of two have health insurance, and one of them decide to use it for couple medical procedures will insurance policy premium go up?

Please advice.

Thanks.

No. The premiums will not go up for that. Usually health insurance is up for renewal once a year and the cost increases at that time, but not just because you use your policy. The cost of group health insurance where I work has had double digit increases in the premiums every year for 10 years now. The health insurance companies are out of control.

How important are sports on a college resume?

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 2:08 am

How important are extracurricular activities and playing sports to getting into college? I was told that if you don’t play a sport in high school, then you don’t have much of a chance to getting into college.

You were told falsly. EXTRA CIRRICULARS are important on a college resume, sports are only one type of an extra cirricular. Without extra cirriculars, unless you are the smartest kid in your class of X in the United states…your application is much weaker. Admission deans LOVE kids who are involved outside of school.

Sports, volunteering, plays, boyscouts, school newspaper, clubs….only a few examples of extra cirriculars. You don’t need to play sports as I said before, those are only one kind of extra cirriculars.

Taking human growth hormone affects the testosterone levels in young males?

Filed under: Human Growth Hormone — admin @ 2:08 am

Does the taking human growth hormone affects
the testosterone levels in young males. If there is an effect,
please provide a description of the effect and any symptoms that may occur.
please i need more responses!

No it does not. HGH is NOT testosterone nor does it effect levels of test. Produced in the pituitary gland in the brain, HGH is a microscopic protein substance. Chemically, it is somewhat similar to insulin although it is secreted in short pulses during the first hours of sleep and after exercise. It only remains in the circulation for a few minutes. This is why it is extremely difficult to measure HGH in blood serum.

HGH is commonly used by professional athletes b/c there is not a standardized test for it. If Testosterone levels were increased they would be noticed when they were tested for anabolic steroids or elevated levels of test.

In addition HGH is something that should be taken over a long period of time where elevated testosterone levels would permenatly damage your bodys own ability to produce testosterone. It can create lean muscle mass and decrease fat but it takes months to see your first results.

At what age should I start using anti-aging skin care products?

I just turned 26 and I’m wondering at what age I should trade in my regular moisturizer with sunscreen for an anti-aging one with sunscreen and a night anti-aging moisturizer.

Which ever age you truly start to age and get wrinkles. Usually its around your 30’s.

How do you become a famous fitness model?

Filed under: Fitness — admin @ 3:11 am

I am thinking about becoming a fitness model. I love to workout. I just want to know what I have to do in order to become. My ultimate goal is to be on the cover of a magazine. How do I do that? Can you guys help me?

you can THINK about becoming a fitness model all you want, but millions of other people are thinking of the same thing. if there were a secret weapon that would ensure you would become famous, everyone would be, so noone can really help you here. you have to not only have the body, but the face, the skin, the hair, the talent, the height and a TON of luck and connections to get any modeling job. you will also have to be a client of a well-known modeling agency, and they dont take just anyboy. anyway, male fitness models dont really become famous. i worked for a modeling agency and did some modeling a few years back, and i cant name one.

How does health insurance work in the US?

Filed under: Health — admin @ 3:11 am

I am a non-US citizen and need this information to do a case.

Specifically:
1) Is health insurance compulsory for everyone?
2) What happens if someone cannot afford it?
3) In the event that a medical procedure needs to be done, does health insurance cover all the bills? Does the patient need to pay anything extra?
4) Does the patient have any say over what kind of procedure he can take? Say if 2 treatments are available for his condition, can the patient choose the more expensive treatment? And if so, is it covered by the insurance?

Thanks for reading this. Your help in answering any part of the questions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks to those who have responded so far.

I would like to further ask:

Does a health insurance contract state that it will only cover the "normal" rates for a procedure? For eg. if there are 2 possible treatments for a disease, 1 of which is more expensive but more effective than the other, will the patient only be covered by the LESS expensive one?

Or is it a case in which the patient can opt for the more expensive one and "top-up" the difference?

This is a crucial question to my understanding the case. Thanks!

You’ve asked a very broad question. There is no simple answer.

In truth, health insurance works a little differently in each state.

To answer your specific questions:
1) No, health insurance is not compulsory for everyone. If you’re lucky, you are able to join a group policy at work. (If you’re really lucky, it’s a good policy and the employer pays at least half of it.) Some states have recently made it compulsory, but that’s such a recent change that there’s no clear cut answer yet for how that’s going to work.

2) What happens if someone can’t afford it is… they don’t get it, usually. Except if your income puts you below the "poverty level", in which case you qualify for Medicaid. (In some states there are programs that typically provide assistance with insuring children, though they are few and far between for covering adults.)

3) Health insurance rarely covers all the bills when you have a procedure done. Most plans cover 50-80% after you meet your deductible. The deductible amounts vary widely (but the trend is that the deductibles are getting higher and higher to keep the premiums down.) If you’re really, REALLY lucky, you don’t have a deductible (which is only an option on group plans), and you may only have to pay 10% of covered charges. (These plans are few and far between. As in, you might have them if you’re in Congress.)

4) Yes, the patient has some say over procedures. However, if the patient opts for an "experimental" procedure, or one that isn’t deemed "medically necessary", then health insurance may refuse to cover any charges at all.

In the end, as with most things, the middle class takes the brunt of these costs. This has become such a problem that more than 50% of all bankruptcies are as a result of medical bills (and of those, more than 75% had health insurance.)

** Edited to add:
It’s not ALL about the money when a procedure is involved. If it is, the state keeps track of complaints filed on behalf of consumers with "managed care" (ie. any type of network arrangement including Preferred Provider Organizations, Health Maintenance Organizations, and Point of Service organizations — also known as PPO, HMO, and POS) and may very well revoke a company’s charter to do business in the state should the company be turning down too many legitimate claims.

However, insurance companies are sticklers for following the "standard" for medical care. This is what makes it difficult to answer your question. Because they should not deny anything that’s considered standard for care in the given circumstances (should not and will not being two completely different things, of course.) And there may be several options that would be considered "standard." If the patient wants treatment that isn’t yet considered "standard", they would balk. Period.

Does human growth hormone and testerone have any relations?

Filed under: Human Growth Hormone — admin @ 3:11 am

in the human body does human growth hormone depends on

i read that testerone is a type of steroid hormone
and human growth hormone is a non steroid hormone so is there a relation between these 2 that affects the production levels

thanks

well since i have a bio 12 exam soon ill explain as well as i can:
GnRH (gonadotropin hormone) stimulates the anterior pituitary to secrete FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) which stimulates the release of testosterone…FSH controls the testosterone levels and production through the testes…and when high levels of testosterone are detected in the blood, FSH stops sending signals to produce testosterone, so the production stops….hope this answers your question…my teacher would be so proud
