What does health department look for when someone bakes and handles food in their home for sale?

Filed under: Health — admin @ 9:16 am

I want to start my own business with baking and making food gifts. I am going to the health department this week, but was wandering what to expect when I go. Also what I may do to my kitchen to have it pass for inspection. I do keep it clean and disinfect with bleach.

My aunt had a home-based baking business. She never needed an inspection since she didn’t advertise or need a tax ID #. However, do you have pets? That’s a sticky one. So are young kids. Some cities may require you to rent an off-site kitchen, but if this is more of a hobby, like my aunt’s, you can do it at home. An inspector may inspect your house to make sure it’s not dirty, your oven’s baking at the right temp, your fridge is at the right temp, ingredients are being stored correctly, etc.

I have a friend right now who also does wedding cakes out of her house. Since it’s a hobby and she has a different FT job, she’s never needed a permit. But if you’re considering this your primary business, scrub the H*** out of your house and be very nice to the health department. They have no sense of humor whatsoever.

What sports make you slimmer instead of building up more muscle?

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 9:16 am

What are some sports that don’t make you gain muscle too much but help you slim up? Please give me some examples. I know cardio is good, but what would be some others? And is yoga good to get slimmer too?
And is that "step-machine" good for sliming up too?

Running and swimming are both examples of great exercise regimes that do not ‘bulk’ a person up. You could also investigate dancing, and if you don’t think dancing is a ’sport,’ boy are you in for a surprise! Dancing is a great way to exercise while doing something truly enjoyable!
Yoga is never a bad thing. Pilates is also great!

What sports can you teach a cricket to play?

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 9:16 am

When I asked about they’re diet someone mentioned that crickets can play sports? What can they do? Can I get them to dunk a little basketball into a little hoop?

Lol this is the funniest question ever. Thanks for the laugh mate. May be i can coach those crickets?

What are the negative consequences of using human growth hormone?

I know testosterone shrinks your balls and makes your voice girly… But does HGH have any bad effects?

Adverse effects of HgH are joint swelling, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and an increased risk of diabetes.

Can anti-aging products have a negative effect on a 14 year old?

I’m 14 and I was using a normal foundation. My skin started to break out, so I stopped and switched to my mom’s. It matched better anyway, and I noticed my skin actually looks really good now. About 2 weeks after I started using it, I read the bottle. It said anti-aging spf protection foundation. Anti-aging? Will anti-aging Covergirl foundation hurt my skin?

No! All anti-aging means is that it contains ingredients that prevent, or actually reverse some of the effects of aging. Most contain powerful anti-oxidants, and some can even stimulate the production of collagen.

Discovering this effect at 14 years old is a good thing. If you continue to use anti aging products….your skin will reward you beyond middle age……………with smoothness, fullness and clarity.

Thumbs up to you my girl…………………………….

What fitness and nutrition certification should I go with?

Filed under: Fitness — admin @ 8:04 am

Serious question …

Looking for second career to keep me busy & am looking to finally get a job that I enjoy. Would like to be a general fitness trainer at the gym and am looking for a course that is comprehensive, not-crazy hard, and a good value for the money. It would need to be primarily distance learning, something internationally recognized preferred, a year or less to complete, and the cost under $4K.

There are manu suitable courses which help you get a certificate for the practice of this job…check out in this site www.aftacertification.com/ you may get a good answer.

How will the department of health and human services carry out a new health care plan?

Filed under: Health — admin @ 8:04 am

I have to write a bill for government and i need to explain how health and human services would carry out my bill after it would be passed. What steps would they take? My health care plan resembles obama’s plan if that helps.

Once the legislation is signed by the president, the approprriate department writes the regulations to implement the law.
For example, the LAW says we have to pay income taxes.
The IRS regulations say we have to file a form 1040.

First, proposed regs are written by the department staff.
They MUST follow the law.
They can not violate the law.

The proposed regs are published in the Federal Register, and the public has from 30 to 90 days to comment on them.
http://www.federalregister.gov/

The dept. reads the comments they get, and decide whether to change any of the proposed regs to fit the comments.
Yes, comments very often do make a difference.
I once had a job where it was my duty to write comments on proposed regs on hunger and poverty programs.

Once the dept. makes their decisions, the final regs are then published in the Federal Register again.

Then all of the necessary people are notified – insurance companies, state insurance departments, hospitals, doctors, etc.

They have to give everyone time to change their procedures to comply with the regs – paperwork, training staff, etc.

The final regs are then published again in the US Code of Federal Regulations
