85.2% of Canadians reported that they were “satisified” or “very satisfied” with the way health care services are provided in their country and an even higher number (89.8%) rated their physician in the same way though slightly lower ratings were awarded to hospitals (79.9% being “satisified” or “very satisfied”).[

  7. Today, U.S. …
Today, U.S. government statistics rank Canada’s infant mortality rate of 4.7 per thousand 23rd out of 225 countries, in the company of the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Australia, and Denmark. The U.S. is 43rd–in the company of Croatia and Lithuania, below Taiwan and Cuba.

In Canada, the United States is used as a model and as a warning against increasing private sector involvement in health care.

  8. So, what you’re …
So, what you’re really saying is rougly 2 out of every 1000 people don’t have health insurance, because its well known that infant mortality rate is high regardless of what care they may receive. Between premature birth and many other issues, I think you’re just fudging a statistic and spinning it to your agenda.

The solid statistics amassed since the 1970s point to only one conclusion: like it or not, believe it makes sense or not, publicly funded, universally available health care is simply the most powerful contributing factor to the overall health of the people who live in any country. And in the United States, we have got the bodies to prove it

In the United States, infant mortality rates are 7.1 per 1,000, the highest in the industrialized world — much higher than some of the poorer states in India, for example, which have public health systems in place, at least for mothers and infants. Among the inner-city poor in the United States, more than 8 percent of mothers receive no prenatal care at all before giving birth.

Yes my wee friend, I know what a demagogue is. The question is do you? it’s typical of you right wing fundaMENTALists to make up your own definitions for words and attempt to rationalise your absurd ideas with nothing but your own petty, psychotic prejudices. Go back to school you silly little boy.

  13. See, that’s the …
See, that’s the difference here. I do think your health is my problem. In fact the people of the nation need to be concerned with each others health. The healthier we are the longer we can contribute to our national economy and wealth and the better off as a country we will be. We all owe each other health care. It is a basic right. Even tribal villages understand that. It is not selfish, it is unselfish, everyone should be taken care of, including you
